Ruby Guillen
Founder & CEO
Ruby Guillen serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Humanistic Technologies, Inc. (HTI), an organization dedicated to promoting human dignity through innovative technological solutions. With an extensive background in both technical education acquired during her tenure in the United States Air Force and practical experience as a client and professional within governmental systems of care, Guillen has developed a unique vision that bridges the traditionally disparate fields of Computer Information Systems and Social Work. Following her transition from active military service to reserve status in 1990, Ruby embarked on a career in social work, motivated by a profound commitment to advocate for underrepresented populations. Her extensive experience as an emergency responder to critical child abuse cases across Los Angeles County includes investigations of over 7,000 children with personnel from hospitals, mental health services, law enforcement, fire departments, and other emergency responders. Over two decades as a technically proficient social worker, she has collaborated with emergency agencies to investigate severe injury and child fatality cases, thereby acquiring profound insights into emergency services and the cultural dynamics of the social service system, as well as the complex data processing protocols that govern it. In her capacity as a technologist and social work research analyst, Ruby is leveraging digital assets and data science to mitigate incidences of violence against women and children, with an emphasis on fatalities. This dual expertise enables her to lead the development of software-based solutions tailored to address intricate social service challenges faced by the government, nonprofit, and private sectors. As a result, HTI is recognized for its humanistic technology initiatives that replace traditional non-technological methods in social services, significantly enhancing both client outcomes and the quality of life for some of society's most marginalized groups.
